What is Financial Freedom?

That state where your money is working for you, you have more money coming into your household from your investments than you need to pay out for your lifestyle.  Financial freedom is different for different people.  A definition that fits perfectly is when your earnings from interest and investments more than covers your expenses and there is money left over to buy the things you want. 

You don't have to punch a clock to put food on the table and clothes on your back. You have control over your current finances and are actively directing your financial future. Now, if you are trying to live like a millionaire on the income of a cab driver, you probably need to make some adjustments in your thinking and lifestyle.

While there is definitely freedom in being extremely wealthy, in our view that same freedom can be had at any level of lifestyle. What does your current lifestyle cost? Probably  not a million dollars. What would it be like if you got a check in the mail that covered all your expenses in addition to your paycheck? Something as simple as being able to go into the grocery store and buy everything you need plus exactly what you want is financial freedom to us.
